David is a complex commercial litigator with over 25 years of experience.
After graduate studies at Oxford University and receiving his J.D. from Columbia Law School, David completed his obligatory climb through New York City’s major law firms, including 15 years at Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP. He clerked for the Hon. I. Leo Glasser of the Eastern District of New York.
David started what became the Shapiro Litigation Group PLLC when two major clients wanted him to quarterback their litigation needs outside the “big firm” world. One matter resulted in a $38 million verdict against IBM from a failed software implementation project. The other client is a high-net-worth individual with complex business and litigation needs.
Today, the Shapiro Litigation Group handles the litigation and business matters of mid-sized corporations doing battle with their software implementers, companies with complex commercial problems, high-net-worth families, foundations and non-profit organizations. David and his team cover all aspects of litigation in a variety of settings, including software implementation failures, fraudulent conveyance, negotiable instruments, attorney fee disputes and business torts.
